What is the shelf life of Ounce Cookies and what is the best way to store the cookies?
Our shelf life may be shorter than other products because of our commitment to the avoidance of artificial preservatives. The shelf life of our cookies differs from flavor to flavor (see specific dating below or reference the Best By date printed on the bottom of each cookie package). Shelf life also depends on the environment the cookie is in; factors such as heat and humidity may affect shelf life. So please store the sealed, unopened cookie packages in a dry, cool environment until ready to open/serve/eat. We recommend eating the cookies upon opening the sealed packages, or shortly thereafter, to keep quality at heart.

Note: Chilling the following five cookies in the refrigerator actually enhances their flavor - meaning they keep well (don’t dry out) after storing them in the refrigerator: Dark Mint Chip, Peanut Butter Polvorón Dalgona Coffee, Chai Pumpkin Poppy Seed, Lemon Turmeric Poppy Seed, and Orange Cinnamon Morning Bun. The mint, espresso, spices, and citrus really come through in the chilled cookies.

• The Chai Pumpkin Poppy Seed, Dark Mint Chip, Lemon Turmeric Poppy Seed, Orange Cinnamon Morning Bun, and the Peanut Butter Polvorón Dalgona Coffee cookies have a shelf life of 180 days.

• The Anko Black Sesame, Ginger Salted Caramel Crunch, Lime Coconut Macadamia Nut, Matcha Crispy, Mexican Lava Chocolate Chip, and the Red Velvet Cookies & Cream cookies have a shelf life of 90 days.

• The Carrot Cardamom Crumble cookie has a shelf life of 30 days.

Is the cookie packaging BPA free?

Yes.

Because this is a food product, we are unfortunately unable to accept returns or process exchanges. At the same time, customer satisfaction is important to us, so in the following cases where a partial or full re-shipment or refund is warranted, we would be happy to do so if you email us the details at info@ouncecookies.com: wrong item shipped; items missing from shipment; damaged cookie packs or gift box.

Not at the current moment, but based on inquiries from abroad, we are researching the topic and will keep you all posted so check back periodically for updates. 

While we do maintain several wholesale accounts, our core business really revolves around hospitality gifting and event catering (direct to corporate or individual consumers). At the current time, we unfortunately have limited capacity to respond to and fulfill wholesale demand. While we are not actively onboarding new wholesale accounts at this time, please feel free to email info@ouncecookies.com should you have questions or like us to review on a case by case basis since things change all the time.

At this time, we accept Zelle, most major credit cards, ACH, and manual checks. 

NUTRITION

The Chai Pumpkin Poppy Seed and Mexican Lava Chocolate Chip cookies are vegan-friendly in that they are made without animal products. But please note they are not Certified Vegan. Something to highlight about our vegan-friendly varieties is that they are made with organic EVOO (extra virgin olive oil), since we avoid using seed / vegetable oils in our recipes.

The Peanut Butter Polvorón Dalgona Coffee cookie is made without grain ingredients but is not Certified Grain-Free. It features a blend of organic cassava flour, organic arrowroot powder, and chopped organic almonds. Please note that the cookies are made in a commercial kitchen using shared equipment that processes grains. 

The Peanut Butter Polvorón Dalgona Coffee cookie is sweetened with organic date-syrup and organic coconut sugar, as an alternative to refined sugar.

The Peanut Butter Polvorón Dalgona Coffee and the Mexican Lava Chocolate Chip cookies are made with non-gluten containing ingredients. However, please keep in mind that because we operate in a commercial kitchen using shared equipment, we do not offer any certified gluten-free products. Those with gluten allergies or individuals with celiac disease should strictly avoid eating our products. The Peanut Butter Polvorón Dalgona Coffee and the Mexican Lava Chocolate Chip cookies are tailored for individuals who choose to avoid gluten as a lifestyle preference. The Peanut Butter Polvorón Dalgona Coffee is made with a blend of organic cassava flour, organic arrowroot powder, and chopped organic almonds. The Mexican Lava Chocolate Chip is made with a blend of organic millet and chopped organic oats and happens to be vegan-friendly too.

CATERING AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Yes! Along with gifting, the target use case for Ounce Cookies is to fill the role of special treats or dessert for meetings, events, or celebrations. The cookie packs ship easily and compactly to anywhere in the U.S. and will arrive in artfully designed, foldable & recyclable display trays for a colorful spread of table-ready, easy-to-grab desserts, perfect for events, meetings, and celebrations.
